Spice Delight
Braised Cabbage & Potatoes Recipe
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, diced medium
1 head green cabbage, cut in medium-size chunks
cup chicken or vegetable stock
1 tablespoon Spice Delight All-Purpose Essence
1 large Russet, red or Yukon Gold potato, diced medium

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add onion, cook 5 minutes or until tender.
Add cabbage, chicken stock and Spice Delight All-Purpose Essence; cook 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
Stir in potato. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until potato is tender
1 to 2 pound corned beef brisket with spice packet, fat trimmed
1 large onion, quartered
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cups chicken stock
2 cups beef stock
1 tablespoon Spice Delight All-Purpose Essence
Remove spice packet from corned beef package; set aside.
In a Dutch oven, brown corned beef and onion in oil over medium-high heat, about
3 minutes per side.
Add chicken and beef stock, Spice Delight All-Purpose Essence and spice packet from corned beef package. Reduce heat.
Cover and cook over low heat 2 to 2 hours or until tender.
Thinly slice corned beef across the grain. If desired, spoon broth over slices to serve.
Chef Barry's Tip
If desired, place Dutch oven in a preheated 350 degree oven after adding chicken and beef stock. Bake 2 to 2 hours.
